Another WOYWW snap shot!

Hi All!
Happy Wednesday! I've gotten most of my Art Studio back into shape. I have just a few short snap shots of my desk right now. I just finished up a Moley 3 page layout of Butterflies, Bees, and Blossoms for Jane's Moley which has been sent through the mail to the next artist.

As you can see, I have a new pair of reading glasses as from time to time my glasses get ruined with paint, permament marker (don't ask me how I got that on my rims! LOL).

I have started to work on some "Altered Hearts" for a SWAP I'm participating in. I'm using a mixture of elements on this round of hearts. They are supposed to be chunky hearts, so I may even create some plaster paris chunky hearts as well.

Don't forget to join Julia Dunnit's WOYWW on her blog at: www.stamping-ground.blog.spot.com. and come join a bunch of talented individuals who love to create and share.

I hope that you all have a FABULOUS Wednesday and I hope to see you again soon!

Hugs!

WOYWW

Hello from Viva Las Vegas!
It's Wednesday morning and you all know what that means, right? No! Not the middle of the week. No! Not to vacuum and mop. No! No! No!...It's Julia Dunnit's FABULOUS "What's On Your WorkDesk Wednesday?" WHAT? Haven't seen it? Haven't Heard of it? OMG! Jump on over to, or click this link and away to vast far away places full of talented friends who love to share their work with us.
http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.com

Since Julia is a frog hop across the pond, Her post comes out early Tuesday evening for us, here in the US. So, technically, I don't post until mid morning on Wednesday Las Vegas time! LOL Ohhh...maybe that's why I don't ever have too many people stop by the blog on Wednesday? Humm...maybe I'll have to create a macro so that as soon as Julia adds her WOYWW Post, my post will automatically appear and then sign in on Julia's Page! Yea! That's a fantastico brilliant idear! Now, if I can just manage to see if it will really work? That means, I'll have to be on my game with What's on my desk.

Below, you will find some pictures of some mixed media malicious Fish for grrrdjules malicious fish swap over at atcsforall.com. Jules is very talented.
You can find her blog here: http://www.grrraphics.ca/ and Juli's Etsy shop can be found here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/grrraphics

And now, here is my school of malacious "CutThroats" Fish:

In addition to the Mixed Media Malacious Fish,  here are a few WIPs I've been working on.

These are some 5x7 coldpressed watercolor postcards I have made. For the outline of each, I have used Micron ink. I will be using different mediums on each one. I will probably go with marker, acryllic, watercolor and ink in hopes to find the right blend and colors to create my final
pieces.

This is the beginning of my 3 page layout for Jane's Moley.
She has picked a beautiful theme, "Bees Butterflies and Blooms"
I have a layer of clear gesso on my 3 pages and have sanded it just a bit so
that my markers will appear as paint. I will be adding some acryllics to
my layout. I think that the clear gesso creates enough texture and protects the paper
that basically you can use any medium on it.  I will be sealing this once
it is complete. I am hoping to be done with it by this weekend and I will definately
post the completed layout.

And finally this week, Here are two "Altered Keys" that I created for the "Bail Me Outta Jail" PIF over at atcsforall.com and an adorable altered hand for Lilli in the "Blind Hand" PIF which is also over at www.atcsforall.com. Just browse through the forums and you will find a bunch of different swaps and threads.

I hope that you all have a fabulous Wednesday and a wonderful, creative week! See you again soon!
Hugs!

WOYWWW!

Hi all!

So nice to see you again! Just a quick post of my desk this morning as I have been working on completing some mixed media canvas's, and a couple of mini scrapbooks. I've been working on re-organizing my art studio and I'm about half way there. When completed, I'll share a picture with you. Until then, here's a shot of my desk as it stands today!

I also thought I would show you an adorable mini and box that I recieved in a personal one on one swap. My friend Tami over at YourPaperPantry.ning.com had asked to do a one on one peersonal mini scrapbook swap with me. It took us both forever to complete the mini's as we both wanted to inspire each other and not disappoint. She did not disappointment me at all! Her mini she created is fabulous and It will be a great keepsake! It turned out beautiful! I just hope she enjoys mine!

Don't forget to visit Julia Dunnit's Blog at: http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.com to join in the weekly peek of hundreds of talented individuals in What's On Your WorkDesk Wednesday!

WOYWW~ Mad House and Chaos Over Takes My Muse.

First off, Happy Wednesday!

I'm so thrilled to have you stop by and gander for a bit. I hope that you all have had a wonderful Wednesday and that your rest of the week will be Fantastic and Awesome .

Yes, You did correctly see my title for today's post. Have you ever had one of those days or one of those weeks? Well, my Muse has become so over loaded, I had to take a break from the Art Studio. So, I jumped up on my bed to meditate along with reading a few Articles and a few books (three to be exact). I was actually out of my shell. Uncomfortable that I was NOT doing a thing. No drawing or doodling. No cleaning of the house. I fell into a trance and blocked the world around "My Personal Space". No answering of the telephones. Turned on the class movie chanel and dug right in to the books I had grabbed off my shelf.

These are the four books I decided to really read, instead of skimming through them to pages that inspired me.

Layered, Tattered and Stitched: A Fabric Art Workshop1.Layered, tattered & Stitched by Ruth Rae.
Here is the link to the book through Amazon.

3. Altered Books 101 by Beth Cote and Cindy Pestka.
I provide the link to this book here:

I have the following Books on my night stand to possibly start reading them tonight, or definately tomorrow. They are part of the series that Beth Cote has published.
a. Altered Books 102~ Beyond the Basics
b.Altered Books 103~ Little Books. Decos. CDs & More!
c.Altered Books 104~ Everything!

Beth has a few more books in which I would love to borrow or buy. Sometimes you can find these books available for check-out at your local library, Mine did not.

Below are some 4x6 postcards that I completed this week and an altered key wall hanger for a PIF Thread Swap over at atcsforall.com.

I hope you all have a fabulous Day and a Marvelous Week. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my desk.....now where do I start?

WOYWW~ February 15, 2012

Wow! I actually was so far off on my days of the week, that I didn't post for Julia Dunnits WOYWW over at her blog: http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.com
The past few days, we celebrated my sons 21st birthday  and my birthday. I won't say how old I am, but for my 21st birthday I spent the morning in a hospital in Misawa Japan, giving birth to my middle child.
It was the perfect birthday EVER!
So, with these festivities, my daughter came into town to help celebrate! It has been so fun getting to know her and spending time with her. She even introduced to me to a very cute womens store and for the first time in 24 years, I actually got to go "GIRL" shopping with her. For some reason, boys just don't like to go shopping with their mom. I'm not sure why? But, it was actually nice. I enjoyed watching her pick out clothes and then pick out other clothes for me to try on. We fashioned the dressing rooms giving approval or thumbs downs on all the clothes we picked out.  On our way home, we grabbed a cup of coffee from Starbucks and talked non-stop on the drive back to the house.

So with regards to what is on my desk this week, a completed mixed media hand for a swap over at www.atcsforall.com These hands have been so fun to make. I've not done mixed media before this thread, so each time I grab someone elses hand, my creativity goes down the drain. But, I am trying. I haven't mastered mixed media, but am having a blast "trying" to be creative and act like I know what I'm doing, but honestly, I really don't!
I hope you all have a fantastic week and I hope you will come back and visit again.
Hugs,

Deb

WOYWW?? What's On My Desk this week?? Ha Ha

Happy Wednesday All! Today, Wednesday, February 8th I have tons on my work desk! I'm not even gonna show you all of what is on my plate today....just a wee bit too much!
I have been sulking in bed not able to do much as Modgepodge and gel mediums and gesso just don't work that well. I could just see me gessoing my honeys hair for a mixed media collage! tee hee. So, I have been drawing and thinking up creative ideas have been roaming around in the bedroom with me!
I have so much to do and am hoping this stomach bug will quickly go away. But, fighting it off takes alot out of me as I have a low imune system so I'll make this POST for WOYWW short and sweet.

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! Take Care! Keep Creating! I'm loving all the creating that I have been visiting on the blogs who are participating in Julia Dunnit's WOYWW. Just hop on over to her blog at: http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.com to participate and go and ga over all the yummy creating that happens each and every week!
Chipboard cut-outs of Birds so I can work on some fun mixed media techniques

Chipboard cut-outs of Fish. I'm participating in a mixed media swap over at atcsforall.com
Mixed Media Malacious Fish Swap. The fish that have been submitted so far by other members
are turning out to be fabulous! I'm crossing my fingers that mine will be that good.

This is a 12x12 mixed media canvas that I have just started. I am working
on the background still and have a bit more techniques to use on it before
I can really get down to business on it!

This is my mixed media journal that I just started working on. I just
completed the front and back cover with my crackle used technique
and after this dries, I can work on adding my title and "stuff"
to really deck my first art journal out with. I figured it was time that
I create an art journal. I have kept personal journals for years and figured
why not try an art journal too this year. So, I guess you are coming
along with  me on my 2012 art journal! Wow! Now, how did I rope
you all in to this? tee hee

My art journal ready for some gesso and paint!

This is an 8 inch altered hand created for Grrdjules over
at www.atcsforall.com in the PIF BlindHand Swap
She absolutley loves "Circus" themed items, so this
hand is called, "The Ringmasters Hand".
I hope she enjoys it.

WOYWW?

We're all a little weird~And life is a little weird~And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness and call it love~ true love. {Robert Fulghum, True Love}

I found this quote on one of my friends signature over at atcsforallcom and thought it was perfect for the beginning of February 2012 as Valentine's Day is just around the corner.

A quick shot of my desk (still in shambles) that has been begging me to clean it up and get back to my organization skills. Ummmm...maybe this weekend? LOL

Birdy Birdy Couplets Swap

Also, I have been finishing up some Birdy Birdy Couplets for a Swap which is due this weekend, and also my layout for the new Moley group I have joined for 2012. I love Moleys and art so it makes perfect sense for me to join another one. I'm hoping to have two groups this year. Something to help keep me busy. Well, I'm off to finish these projects and get them posted in the mail!
I hope you all have a great Wednesday and a Fabulous Week! Until next time....
Hugs!
