I decided to create a few mermaids close up and drawing them in such a way that you have to put a bit of thought into what their whole actions their story is telling. Just use your imagination..... I came up with some pretty funny tales!

The card above is my anniversary card I made my husband. It is based off a picture by Debbie Mumm (I love her style). My hubby and I celebrated our Anniversary today! It actually is a wonderful day as my mom and dad would be celebrating their 50th Anniversary and my Grandparents would be celebrating their 87th.

I am so thankful for my husband as he is my best friend. I am thankful for my family. I am thrilled to have them in my life and I want him to know how much I love and appreciate him!

Time On Tuesday

With Insomnia comes the time to create when all the house has gone to sleep, except for the parakeet (Charlie) who is annoying the 2 dogs (Kora and Tucker) who are trying to sleep under my feet at my art desk.

I participate in a "Play It Forward" Whimsical Style Forum Game.

An individual lists three items that someone else can draw for them. Then another participant randomly posts that they will draw one of the three choices listed and hopes (and prays) that what they create will make the previous individual happy. Once that is done, then the artist that drew something whimsical lists three items of choice that another artist can do and so forth. It's a great PIF and.....

I hope this makes her Happy! (Crossing my fingers!)

Below are some cards I did for an ATCforall.com swap ~ "3 of a kind" Hosted by Paperscraps. On the cards has to be three things that are the same. I enjoy her swaps and am always thrilled to participate.
I based my cards off of Lisa Lorenz' painting that she did. I loved her bright colors that she used and of course, I am a huge frog and lotus/lillypad fan, so I thought it would be fun to create three cards similar to each other and one card for the lovely hostess from Lisa's painting.
I used prismacolor markers/ink on illustration board. These are 2.5" x 3" artist trading cards.

Where Has The Time Gone?

Hi bloggers! I am so sorry that it has been over 4 months since I have even posted anything to my blog. The truth is that I have been contemplating keeping the blog. To be honestly butal, I have no self confidence of my art. My creative mind doesn't want to work most of the time and I struggle to put my thoughts down on paper. I do however get very inspired by other artists work and that SOMETIMES helps me!

I hope you enjoy them and, if you will, please give me some feedback on them. I don't mind the negativism, it helps me to expand my trial and errors of art work.

Here are some ATCs that I did of the talented Sarah Bishop. I love "Her Girls" alot and decided to try to do some. I did these using Prismacolors and white pastel pencil.

This weekend I decided to try something new. Create some shimsy girls and do each card monochromatic. Here are four cards that I have made. The first card which is at the bottom of this set was creation of my whimsy gal to obtain how I wanted them to look like. All of these cards are 400lb. watercolor paper and drawn with Prismacolor Markers and Micron Pens.

TGIF!

Wow! What a week! It has just gone by so fast! And the countdown to Christmas has began. I've been in a slump, so I took a break for a day or too and focused on my list of cards I want to make. There's just so many and were to start.

The card above is a collage of Christmas Vintage Images and a really fun font that fit perfectly to what I wanted. I printed the collage I created in black and white on a red background. I then used a Martha Stewart Glitter Pen and filled in the word believe and stars. I added a twinkle in Santa's eyes, green ribbon, green rhinestones and some red and green paper mounted onto white cardstock.

The First Day of December

Wow! I can't beleive how fast 2009 has quickly gone by. It seems that the days are getting shorter and I can't complete everything on my TO DO LIST!

I thought I would share with you one of my Christmas Cards I did a few years ago. Okay, 11 years ago, but I still occasionally use the picture for Christmas Cards every now and then. I hope that you enjoy!

Cards for Men~ Christmas Challenge

Alright, here is a sneak peek at some of my new cartoon characters "Almonds"! LOL
I made this card using black cardstock, Christmas Paper from DCWV Holiday Stack. Added some brads, Cricut cut snowflakes, rhinestones.

The inside of the card says "As Billy was trimming the tree, he thought he heard someone yell....Bombs-away! Hope you have a Smashing Christmas!"

This is a 12X18 acrylic on canvas. I painted this picture to go in my living room. You wouldn't think to pair red and purples together, but it looks totally awesome hanging on my fudge walls.Copyrighted.


This picture is titled "Wish upon a star". It has been painted using acrylics. You can faintly see one of the stars shooting past her as she closes her eyes in hopes that her wish will be granted. Needless to say, it did! Copyrighted.

This is a 10X12 watercolor of a cactus out at Valley of Fire located near Las Vegas. It was my first cactus ever painted. It didn't turn out quite liked I hope, but reminds me of my visit with nature.

Digi & Rubber Stamps Creations

I'm a little late in posting this evening, but I have been extremely busy in my studio conjuring up some more of my "Almonds" cartoon characters for digi and rubber stamping! Cute as can be! I can't wait to get them out there and see what others think about then and what YOU can do with them. You will just have to keep checking back to see the final line!

Everybody Art Challenge- Christmas Challenge #67

For this card, I created a shaker card.It is a 6x6 card. I used green cardstock and dr. pink ribbon. I added a few clip arts, stamps,some embellishments, stickers, and the cricut cut word Season Greetings. I also used some snowflake brads.

This Card is called "Dogs Life" and I used some stickers I had for this. This is a 5x5 card. I used Red and Brown Cardstock. The inside of the card says "It's a Good Thing I "Woof" You!



MISSING YOU~ This is a photo of one of my paintings I did. I made the photo into a 4X6 card and it actually turned out alot better then I thought it would. She is mounted on green and blue cardstock. The inside of the card says "I Wish You Were Here".




ROOSTER~ This is a photo reproduction of one of my watercolors I painted. This is also a 4x6 card. I mounted the photo onto Drk barn Red Cardstock and added a red & yellow ribbon.




JOY~ This card is also a photo reproduction of one of my watercolor paintings I did. She is a Christmas angel holding a doll. I mounted the photo onto Christmas Green/Red/Black Glitter Striped Cardstock and added embellishments and added the word JOY.




I MISS YOU MY DARLING~ This is a 5x7 photo reproduction of another watercolor pencil I painted. I was being goofy that day and thought I would give her a real boa and glitter her lips out. She actually turned out terrific mounted onto purple cardstock.
